Ya know, though I’ve been following the election cycle for years now I’ve never really gotten involved. Guess I thought that being a retired 20-year military veteran AND born on the 4th of July was about as patriotic as one could get. Full disclosure though…not a fan of apple pie. Don’t judge me. Anyway, never really wanted to get involved, that is until now.
Over the past few months I’ve put out a few blog posts that have been politically focused, not so much on the politics of things themselves but my perspective on politically charged situations or government decisions and how they impact my family, business, and brothers & sisters-in-arms. I guess it could be considered that my tastes in fashion and design are edgy and progressive, once coined best dressed guy in SOF for whatever that’s worth…that and $10 will get you a cup of coffee, just plain coffee though, but I digress. As a retired veteran and business owner my political stance definitely lists to starboard. That’s to the right for all you land-lubbers. Who says a gun toting, knife wielding fella can’t be well quaffed and finely attired; it’s all just a matter of taste.
With the run for the presidency kicking in to high gear today by way of the Iowa Caucus I not only had to say something, which I’m doing now, but I’ve taken it a bit further. Before I get into the further bit I would like to address a glaring shortfall within the two Democratic candidates. Oh, I guess there are 3, but I can never remember the name of that guy from Maryland. First, as a former Naval Officer and highly qualified Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operator I know exactly how important it is to protect State secrets: CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, TOP SECRET, or SCI level information. Also, I know the repercussions should any of that information be mishandled intentionally or otherwise. Having been “Read-In” to several highly sensitive programs, been “Read-Out” since retirement, I can only imagine just how sensitive the information was/is that Secretary Clinton so carelessly and casually mishandled or worse. If I had merely burped something labeled as low as “CONFIDENTIAL” outside authorized channels my career would have been over. Heck, when I was working within SCI programs I was routinely required to undergo a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph tests and one of the Naval Officer and highly qualified Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) operator I know exactly how important it is to protect State secrets: CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, TOP SECRET, or SCI level information. If I had merely burped something labeled as low as “CONFIDENTIAL” outside authorized channels my career would have been over. Heck, when I was working within SCI programs I was routinely required to undergo a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph tests and one of the first questions asked was always, “Have you ever knowingly divulged classified information?”
I wonder how the needle would react to Secretary Clinton being asked that question. In fact, I would be apt to believe her if she courage and honesty to actually sit for a CI Poly, but that’s not likely so the world may never know. Of course you can listen to the talking heads on the boob box that say “what’s the big deal” or “they weren’t marked ‘Classified’” or whatever spin they’re trying to put on the situation…well, all I have to say to that is…BULLS@#T! First, if you’ve never had a security clearance at any level you shouldn’t be talking about it like you know a thing or two. I’ve never performed brain surgery so why would I talk like I know a thing or two about that subject other than it’s a frightening notion and hats off to the smart docs that successfully do it. Even worse why would ANYONE in their right mind even want to listen to me talk about something I know little to nothing about? Think about it. The next time you see someone attempting to defend Hillary’s misconduct just ask yourself, is that person truly qualified to have more than a ridiculous opinion and if not, why listen? Will anything become of Hillary’s misconduct? I certainly hope so, but probably not as she’s part of the power elite who think they’re in a Steven Seagal movie called “Above the Law”. Too bad really as the color orange suits her well!
Next, do you really want to feel the “Bern”? As a small business owner I’m feeling the burn right now with ACA, tons of regulations, etc., etc… Add a 90% tax rate to the 1% of the population? Which includes most of the business world, small or otherwise, are you nuts? If you think that’s a good idea then you’ve never worked hard to earn a damn thing or you’re already so rich that you’re not affected or you’re part of the corrupt power elite that have worked another “solution” thru hook-ups. Well, 99.99% of us hard-working, innovative, risk-taking entrepreneurs don’t have any of that.
Hell, Bernie’s not even offering any free lubrication with his hair-brained idea. That’s just mean. Like with the Hillary bit and the talking heads, if they’ve never worked to build something for themselves or their family from scratch, like me and thousands of others why would you listen to them? If you do believe in Bernie’s plan then might I suggest you take 90% of your personal property, to include money of course, and just give it away and not to a charity of your choice but to any run-of-the-mill deadbeat, non-US citizen or criminal as that’s what’s happening now with the extraordinary amount of taxes I currently pay. Feel the Bern? Rather burn in hell as it’s about the same thing and I wouldn’t even have to worry about scraping up enough change to buy a lighter to light my cheap cigars.
All that said, I think it’s the perfect time to launch something I’ve been working on for a few months. It initially began more as a joke having some fun with the Democratic Party’s favorite mascot but has since grown into a full-blown political statement I just had to share. I think a lot of you out there will appreciate both the detailed designs and their overall message. I’ve named the two designs, “Jack Ass – Don’t be one!” and “The Elephant in the Room”. The Jack Ass I think speaks for itself and of course, the room in which the Elephant soon should reside is the Oval Office.
Now that I’ve thrown myself chest deep into the political fray I invite you all to share in spreading the message that it’s time for some real change in the oval office. It’s time for the too silent majority, like me, to stand up to the too vocal minority and not only put an end to the rising tide of ridiculously harmful, progressive liberalism but more importantly ratchet back our snowballing social program laden budget brought on by the Roosevelt’s “New Deal” and LBJ’s “Great Society”… Oh yeah, let’s take care of our fine citizens before giving $M’s, B’s, T’s to enemies of the State!
Can I get an AMEN?!
